Dm-EdgeSkW, Deathmatch level for Unreal Tournament
___________________________________________________

Converted by [SkW]Deathwish of the SKAARJWARRIORS (http://surf.to/skaarjwarriors | http://surf.to/scragsite) from the classic Quake II arena Q2DM1 "The Edge" by Tim Willits.

The Edge - regarded as a classic by many so I bring you The Skaarj Edge... an UT version with a texturing and lighting makeover but classic Quake II gameplay. The map looks great in UT when decked out in the Skaarj texture set and lit by a blue night sky.

The map comfortably accommodates between 2 and 8 players (8 player starts are provided and this is about the limit of the map's sensible capacity). Framerate is good on my old P2-233 so you won't have any problems there.

Bots play well enough. They jump where they should and they certainly put up a good fight. They don't get stuck anywhere and go for everything except the Chainsaw (but that's in there for fun anyway and who would blame them!).

For the purest Edge experience, Deactivating the Translocator and setting Weaponstay is recommended.

There are bugs. A couple of minor BSP holes but they don't effect gameplay. Only one really notices high up on the end wall in the valley, and that's just a mild irritation.

Don't forget to download the other SkW maps... I may release a Dom-EdgeSkW too if I feel like it :-) .

NB: Because I could only find a Q1 map converter this level is converted from Q1Edge, converting author unknown. There are a couple of minor architectural changes from Q2DM1 but these have been incorporated or compensated for as appropriate and it definitely looks like Q2DM1 to me ;-) .

Have fun and give me your feedback!
