HOW TO INSTALL THE PROGRAM
==========================
Simply run the .exe file found in the zip file, along with
this readme file, and follow the instructions presented.

======================
HOW TO RUN THE PROGRAM
======================
When installed, you run the program simply by clicking on the
shortcut in the program group created called Dope City, or
by double-clicking on the "Launch.exe" file, which can be
found in the directory to which you installed the game.

The game now includes the Java Runtime Environment parts
needed to run it, so the plugin is no longer required to run
the game.

=====================
HOW TO PLAY DOPE CITY
=====================
You start the game with $25.000 as a loan, and the goal in the
game is to make this money grow as much as possible, within the
given time limit. You also start with 100 ecstasy pills and a
kilo of weed. You have to pay back the loan at the end of the
game though, including $5.000 in interests!

The splash screen:
When the game is loaded you'll see the Dope City splash screen,
and two buttons are available, "Options" and "Start Game". Under
options you'll find a few game options that you can set as you
please, and then proceed to start the game with the "Start Game"
button.

The turn information screen:
Once started, the game will show the turn information screen,
which serves as an overview of what happened the last executed
turn. For now only one item is available, and it says "Welcome!",
in the news and events list. All the headlines for the actions
of your pushers, as well as other relevant headlines, for the
last turn will be shown here, and you can doubleclick on each to
see more information about it to the right. On the very top of
the screen, the current day and week are shown. Below the news
and events list you'll see the popular and unpopular drug of the
week. The popular drug sells better than average the current
week, and the unpopular drug, of course, sells badder than
average. Beneath these you'll see the number of weeks left in
the game, and to the right is a list of the number of units of
each drug sold the week before this one.

The pusher employment screen:
First thing you have to do, is hiring a pusher or two. Click
the hire pusher button to the left, and it'll take you to the
pusher employment screen. Here three different pushers will be
available for hire each turn. The screen shows a picture of
the pusher, as well as their name, age, sex and statistics.
Below these there is a hire button, which also states the
pushers weekly fee. Each pusher portrait can be click, and a
screen will appear with a profile of the pusher. To hire the
pusher you want, simply click on the hire button below. The
statistics have the following meanings:
-Contacts: This shows how many contacts the pushers has around
Dope City, which in turn is an indication of how good the
pusher is at setting up a good deal.
-Business: This shows how good the pusher is at finding
customers, and selling them as much dope as possible.
-Combat: Show how good the pusher is at handling a cop in a
  fight.
-Stealth: Indicated how good the pusher is at avoiding cops and
other cirminal by hiding in the shadows, and travelling by
  unknown routes through the city.
-Intercept: An indication of the pushers skills when it comes
to raising funds, by scouting out a good victim and mugging
  those that look profitable.
In all cases, the higher the statistic, the better.

The delegation of orders screen:
Now that you've hired a pusher or two, you need to give them
something to do. Click on the orders button to the left, and
it will open the delegation of orders screen. Here a large map
of Dope City occupies most of the screen, cut up into 64 areas
by a grid. Whenever your mouse cursor is over a square on the
map, the statistics for that square will be shown below. These
statistics pretty much speak for themselves, but I will explain
them below for your convenience:
-Cop frequency: Shows the chances of running into a cop in
  this area.
-Crime rate: Reflects the chances for a pusher being mugged
  while operating there.
-Market rating: Indicates how easy it is to sell dope here,
and how many potential customers are present.
-Deal quantities: This statistic reflects the maximum amount
of dope available per deal, in this area.
-General activity: Shows how much activity there usually is in
this area. The higher the activity, the more profitable
victims for fund raising are available.
Now, to give a pusher orders, first select the pusher from the
pull down menu to the top right. Once selected, the pushers
statistics are shown below. The pushers location is also shown
on the map, the square in which he or she is currently positi-
oned turning white. Below the pushers statistics you'll see
three choices to set the general behaviour of the pusher:
-Elusive: Adds one to stealth, but substracts one from combat.
 -Neutral: No special bonus points.
-Aggressive: Adds one bonus point to combat, but substracts one
  from stealth.
Below the behaviour choices, the order buttons are shown. When
a pusher has just been hired, he or she is automatically staying
put. This is shown by the staying put button being unavilable.
To change this order, simply click on another order button, and
the new order has been given. One button varies from this rule
though, the re-locate button. When you push this button, the map
tiles become white, and you have to click on a location for the
pusher to move to. Grey locations cannot be pushed, another of
your pushers is operating in this area. Once a square has been
pushed, the map is again unavilable, and the order has been
given. You can always change an order by choosing another button,
since the pushers orders are carried out when you end the turn,
and not on this screen. When a pusher is selected, this screen
also shows what his or her weekly salary is, and when the number
of days untill it is due. If you don't have the money to pay
your pushers, they will leave.

The dope summary screen:
This next screen is accessed by clicking on the next button to
the left, the dope button. It simply serves as an overview of
how much dope you got left. You can change your price range on
this screen as well though, which is simply done with the pull
down menu at the bottom of the screen. You sell a little less
if your prices are high, and a little more if your prices are
low, naturally.

The current offers screen:
When you order your pushers to scout deals, the offers will go
here when they set one up. You choose an offer on the top list,
and details concerning it will show up below. If you want to
act on the deal shown, simply click on the accept current deal
button. If you have the money, the dope will added to your
reserves, and the money for it substracted from your cash.

The end turn screen:
Once you have done what you need to do for the turn, press the
end turn button to the left. You will be asked if you are sure
that you want to end the turn. Once confirmed, all orders will
be carried out and so forth, and you will be taken to the turn
information screen for the next turn.

The fight screen:
Sometimes your pushers run into cops, and when this happens a
special fight popbox will appear. First you need to choose if
you want the pusher involved to fight or surrender. If you
choose to surrender, the pusher will not be employed by you
anymore, but might be available for hire again later. If you
choose to fight, the combat will be played out untill one part
dies. If it's your pusher, he or she is dead, and will not be
available for the remainder of the game. If the copdies,
nothing happens except that your pusher get's anothernotch on
the gun.

The end of game screens:
When the time limit for the game is up, or you press the end
game button, you will automatically be shown the end of game
statistics screen. Here you can scroll up and down, and see
exactly how you did in the game. When you are finished browsing
the stats, press the button below, and you will see the top 5
drug lords screen. If you made a place on the list, you have to
type in your name in the designated box and press enter. After
you have done this, or if you didn't make a place on the list,
you can end the game by pressing the button at the bottom of
the screen, and you will be taken back to the start screen
with the splash graphic.

That's it, have fun!

how good the chances are of winning the fight
-Fixed the bug that caused the specifications of an offer
to disappear when trying to accept the offer, without
  having enough cash

turn button was pushed, when a pusher was set to perform
a certain order in the "E Central" part of town

payment, wouldn't be added to the hiring pool again
-Fixed the bug that made it impossible to hire a pusher,
even though there in reality was one or two available for

listed as sold by a pusher, even though it said that
  nothing (=0) was sold

loan, and the welcome message and end of game statistics

-People have complained that the previous version was

  of ways
-The game length has been reduced to 7 weeks, instead

 -Adjusted this readme file slightly
