Dr Solomon's Management Edition - Removal of IBM AntiVirus v2.5.2/v3.0

*** Introduction ***

The enclosed disk provides a new component that you may use to remove
IBM AntiVirus v2.5.2/v3.0

Please note the following important points:

1 This component has not been tested with any other versions
of IBM AntiVirus, so we can not guarantee compatibility.

2 This component requires Management Edition V1.50 or later.

3 We recommend that removal via Management Edition is not attempted
whilst a scheduled scan is in progress via IBM's AntiVirus. This only
refers to their on demand scanner, not System Shield, their on access
scanner.

4 A reboot is necessary to complete the process. After the reboot, the
IBM files will be deleted. If the IBM installation directory contains
other, non-IBM files they will be left intact. If the directory is
empty it will also be deleted.

*** Installation Details ***

This component is available for Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Windows NT
machines. Follow these steps to install the component into Management
Edition and remove IBM AntiVirus from your machines.

1 To add the new Management Edition component into your software
repository:

1.1 Start the Management Console. Click the Repository toolbar button,
or right-click the 'Repository' object in the anti-virus domain view and
select 'Configure'.

1.2 Click the 'Install' button, then the 'Product' button. In the
'Browse for Folder' dialog, select the drive containing the floppy disk.
Then click 'OK'.

1.3 Once the software has been added, click 'Cancel', followed by
'Close'.

2 To add component to required machines:

2.1 Right-click an individual machine, members group, anti-virus domain
and select 'Manage Components' followed by 'Add/Remove Components'. If
you are right-clicking on 'Anti-Virus Domain(s)' at the very top of the
tree, select 'Add/Remove Components'

2.2 Select the 'Remove IBM AV v2.5.2/v3.0' component in the right hand pane
and click 'Add'. Then click 'OK'.

2.3 Repeat step 2.2, this time selecting 'On-Access Scanner'. This means
that when the machine is rebooted immediate coverage will be supplied
by Dr Solomon's WinGuard, so the machine will not be unprotected
during the transition. If 'On-Access Scanner' does not appear in the
list of available components you may first need to add an Anti-Virus
Toolkit to your repository. Refer to your manual for further details.

2.3 In the tree view, right-click the same object that you selected in
step 2.1 and select 'Apply Configuration'.

2.4 Once the component has run and the machine has been rebooted you
should see a green tick next to the machine. This indicates that the
software has been removed successfully.

2.5 You may now remove the component. Repeat steps 2.1 and 2.2, this
time selecting 'Remove IBM AV v2.5.2' in the left hand pane, then click
'Remove'.
