            probes beyond that size is not permited at any time. No weight

EVENTS:     DUMB MOUSE:       Micromouse faces an unknown path from
                              start to finish of maze.  Dumb mouse will
                              solve the maze simply by following either the
                              left or the right wall (wall hugging).
                              These are still autonomous robots, but require
                              only simple software algorithms.
            SMART MOUSE:      Micromouse faces a much more difficult maze,
                              one that cannot be solved by wall hugging.
                              Mouse must map maze and determine shortest
                              path, using advanced algorithms.
CLASSES:    autonomous only
SIZE:       Maximum base of 25 cm. by 25 cm.  No height restriction (must
            fit through door of building!).
AWARDS:     Non-cash for both categories.  Trophy will likely be awarded
            to winner of smart mouse contest.

EVENTS:     Robots collect points negotiating a course based loosely on the
            idea of a pinball game.  Different areas of the board require
            robots to recognize or execute a variety of tasks for which 
            points are awarded.
CLASSES:    Autonomous robots
SIZE:       Typically 23cm x 30cm in area. Height is unrestricted. Weight is
            unrestricted but must be light enough not to damage or fall 
            through the PinBot playing board.

            3. ROBOBALL - ONE v. ONE matches of Robot Soccer.
            4. TEAM ROBOBALL - Seperate event where 3 robot teams play Robot
               Soccer.
            5. ROBOT AESTHETIC COMPETITION - A seperate event in which robot
               will be judged by student exhibit judges based on looks and
               overall display.
CLASSES:    Remote-control and Autonomous.
SIZE:       Weight must be less than 60lbs.
AWARDS:     There will be seperate awards in each of the 5 events as well as
            the Triathlon award for getting the most points in the 3 events.
            Awards will be given for both RC and Autonomous classes.
