SATCONV.EXE
===========
SATCONV converts the satellite frequency list, SATELLIT.TXT, to a CSV-file,
SATELLIT.CSV . These files can be imported in for example MS-EXCEL (and other
spreadsheets) and MS-ACCESS (and other database programs), which makes it
possible to use these programs powerful search and edit facilities. The
reason why I just don't put SATELLIT.CSV in my ftp area myself is, that
this makes it possible to make a individual CSV-file. (Some countries use .
as decimal point, some use , and so on).

Just put SATCONV.EXE in the same directory as the satellite list and write:
SATCONV  [options]
where these are the options:

  /dp Decimal point (for example /dp, if comma is to be used as dec.point)
        Default: /dp.
  /ts   Thousands separator (/ts  --> 11580   /ts.  --> 11.580 )
        Default: /ts.
  /te End character appended to transponder number to force string
        evaluation. (Useful when importing in Excel, to prevent for example
        transponder numbers with letters to be considered as strings, which
        are left centred, while transponder numbers without letters to be
        considered as numbers, which are right centred). In this case use
        /te  (  is chr(160), which forces string mode ).
        Default: No end character ( /te )
  /dl   Field delimiter (normally ; ) . /dl#tab gives you tab (ASCII
        character 9) as separator. Default: /dl;
  /sd   String begin/end (normally ")
        Default: /sd.
  /fi File name in (normally satellit.txt). Use: /fisatlist.txt
        Default: /fisatellit.txt
  /fo File name out (normally satellit.csv). Use: /fosatfrq.csv
        Default: /fosatellit.csv
  /ansi Convert foreign characters to ANSI. Use this with Excel and Access.
        Default: Not enabled!

Hint! Put your favorite setting in a batch file. The file SATKONV.BAT is
my own preference, which for example uses the , as decimal point, which
the danish Excel likes very much...

MS-EXCEL
========
Use "Import" (under "Files"). File type: CSV. Eventually use "Setup Import"
first.

MS-ACCESS
=========
Create a new database. Then you can import from the "File" menu. You might
get an error at the end, but the file is imported correctly (I hope :-).
Also here file type is CSV.
