ANITEST freeware, version 1.02beta, for Windows 95
-------------------------------------------------

Anitest is a program for previewing .ANI and .CUR cursor files.
Animated cursors are shown with the proper frame rates (Windows
Properties dialogs and the Control Panel | Mouse applet don't
seem to be able to display .ANIs in the way they were meant to
be shown.) Static cursors and icons are shown as static cursors.

USAGE
-----
Drop a cursor file (or an icon) onto the shortcut to ANITEST.EXE,
and a window will open with that cursor set as the mouse pointer
in the window. You could also set this as an option on the .ANI
or .CUR context menus (or as the default action.)

You can drag and drop up to 60 files from another window into the
ANITEST window, and change from the current cursor to the next by
left-clicking in the window. If you drop more than 60 files, only
the first 60 will be shown.

When the window opens, the window's background will be the same
pattern that you have on your desktop; you can change this to a
black, white, or grey background by clicking one of the numbers
on the menu.

A right mouse click will in the ANITEST window ends the program.

The "Hotspot" menu item will show the cursor's hotspot in a 64x64
square in the upper-left corner of the program window.

WHATEVER
--------
Planned improvements/refinements include:

    conversion of icons to .CUR files;
    testing cursors directly from an Explorer window;
    "Author" and "Title" text display for .ANIs;
    and functions for setting and testing hotspots.

Some of these things might end up in another program (CURSETTA) that
I've started writing - see www.jps.net/thamiter for details.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is freeware, as-is, use at your own risk. As far as I can
tell, it's bug-free - but I can't guarantee it.
Please let me know if you find any bugs.
