This archive contains programs, which realize a lossless image compression
algorithm.

nk.exe - encoder for Windos NT, 95... .

Usage: nk [options] Input file(s) in BMP or TV format.

For example: nk file.bmp
             nk /s /d file.tv file2.tv *.bmp

Output: compressed image(s) in file(s) with TVC extension.
A message box is displayed after execution. Elapsed time
and reduction factor are contained in the message.
If two or more images are compressed, mean reduction factor
and mean bpp are displayed.

Options:
   /s -suppress the progress indicator and message window;
   /d -delete input file(s).

unk.exe - decoder.
Usage: nk [options] compressed image file(s) in TVC format.

For example: unk /t file1.tvc file2.tvc
             unk /d *.tvc
Options:
   /t -decoding time are displayed;
   /d -delete input file(s).

Output: image file in BMP (24 bpp only) or TV format.

nk_dbg.exe - debug version of encoder.

Input: one file in BMP or TV format.

Output: compressed image in file with TVC extension,
        file dec_a.tv containing adaptive predictor's errors,
        file dec_ai.tv containing result of inter-component
             processing dec_a.tv,
        file "maski.tv" with predictors numbers,
        file dec_m.tv containing adaptive predictor's errors,
        file zero.tv containing map of 0-zones encoding.
Two message box is displayed after execution.
First message include indices of RLE (may be absent)
 and entropy encoding for 4 data stream (R,G,B & aux.).
 RLE section looks like this:
 in_length(entropy*in_length/8)-->out_length (parameters)
 Entropy section looks like this:
 in_len(entropy*in_len/8)-->out_len(dif. from potential)=
 1+len.sort.table+len.entropy.table+data
Second message is the same as nk.exe.

TV format is an internal format of TV dept. in Tomsk state university
of control system & radioelectronics. In ftp://pub/ImageTools/tv.zip
locate programs destined for images analysis and conversion between
TV and BMP formats.

WARNING! I don't guarantee that your images will be decompressed.
