About DC
--------

DC is a new BWT-archiver. Based on a completly new modelling technique,
as replacement for MTF, it achieves very good compression ratios - close to
the worlds best, at high speed.

Usage
-----

  DC <e|t|x> [-<sw1>[-]<sw2>[-]...] InputFile(s) [OutputFile]

Commands:

e - encode file (default command)
x - extract file
t - test compression engine (not archive testing!) - used at the
moment for bug-hunting. It expects an input file to compress/
                decompress

Switches:

-b<blocksize> - data block size in kb, bigger blocks give better compression
-v<level> - set how comunicative DC should be (0..6)
-c - skip capital conversion filter
-p - skip permutation filter
-r - skip phrase replacement filter
-l - disable RLE
-n - skip processor detection (some old Cyrix CPUs don't like it)
-e - skip the EOL encoder, improves compression on some text files
-s - skip Burrows-Wheeler Transform, only for testing purposes
-d - disable distance coder, again only for testing
-a - skip analysis (if 1-2% speed improvement counts :-)
-w - wait until keypressed

You can combine more switches like for example :

dc -v5b1024c book1 (it is equivalent to: dc -v5 -b1024 -c book1)

I'd like to thank to:

Szymon Grabowski - for lots of ideas and support during the development

Florin Ghido - for bringing me on the compression field

Mark Nelson - for his BWT article, my first contact with the
                       Burrows-Wheeler Transform

Vladimir Semenyuk - for testing, and some new ideas

Uwe Herklotz - for testing
