Split'n'Join FAR Plugin 1.0
===========================

1. What is it?

The plugin allows to split a file into pieces of equal or
different sizes, to calculate its CRC32 value and join
several pieces together. It's useful when writing large files
on floppy disks or CDs.

2. Requirements

Windows 95 or higher, FAR Manager shell no older than 1.70. If
your FAR version is 1.60 or lower, you can downoad the latest
one from http://www.rarsoft.com.

3. Installation

Make a subdirectory (ex. FileSplit) in the Plugins subdirectory
of the main FAR directory, then copy the archive contents
there and restart FAR.

4. Usage instructions

Before using it's recommended to assign a shortcut key to the
plugin in the plugin menu (F11) by pressing F4. For example,
it's 'S'. After that you can position a cursor on the file
name and press F11, 'S' to get file splitting dialog on the
screen. In most dialogs you can press F1 to get help on
options or messages.

A file can also be split by typing in the command line
split:<file_name>

To join a group of files, mark them and call the plugin.

If you don't mind the key '$' to be assigned to the plugin
in the F11-menu and the definition of macro Ctrl+Alt+F10 to
call the plugin, you may execute Hotkeys.reg file. Note
that you will probably want to turn on the "find files"
option on in the join dialog.

5. Uninstallation

Restart FAR, then delete the subdirectory that was created in
section 3.
