                 	1. SOFTWARE INFORMATION
-----------------------------------------------------------------
A) DESCRIPTION
TrayBar is a great program launcher for the Windows platform that lets
you launch your favorite programs from a system tray menu.
It consists of a icon in the system tray. When you go over the icon
a menu pops up. Frome there you can launch all your programs.
With the Config option you can configure the Traybar menu.
You can add programs, folders and separators. You can also create sub menus
in wich you can place even more programs, folders and separators.
The items may be easily rearranged and organized using separators.
You can also specify how you want programs launched: minimized, hidden, maximized,
or in a normal window.

B) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
You have to have Windows 95/98/2000/NT to run Traybar.
I don't know if it needs a speedy processor.
I know it runs fine on a P100 with 16Mb Ram.
Maybe someone can test it for me on a 386/486?

C) CONTACT
I'd like to hear what you think about Traybar:
So for all your comments, suggestions, bug reports and (technical) questions
mail me at "rfalcon@dds.nl" or "phoenix.nimation@12move.nl"
You can also use the "Feedback" button in the about dialog.

D) LEGAL STUFF
TrayBar is Freeware, wich means you don't have to pay for it :-)
Traybar is fully functional and will not expire after certain time.
In addition I'm not responsible for any problems that could be caused by
the usage of this program.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
2 HOW TO USE TRAYBAR 2000?
-----------------------------------------------------------------

A) INSTALLATING AND UNINSTALLING
---------------------------------
Installing TrayBar is easy.
Just unzip the zip file with an unpacking program like Winzip (www.winzip.com)
to any directory you want.
From there you can just run the program.

If you don't like the program or it's not what you expected it
to be. You can always uninstall it:
* Exit TrayBar
* Remove the traybar.exe from your HD

That's all, but you can also remove the registry key
to do that, do the following:
* Click "Start"
* Click "Run"
* Type "regedit"
* Navigate your way to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nimation
* Delete the key "Traybar"

B) ADDING PROGRAMS AND FOLDERS
---------------------------------
To configure Traybar go to "system" and then "config"
At the bottom of the configurator you'll see
three text boxes and some radio buttons:

-Location-
this is the location of the program or folder you want to add.
You can type the adres here or you can browse for the program
with the browse and browse for folder button.

-Decription-
here you'll have to fill in the name of the program.

-Parameters-
These are optional. But here you can fill in additional
parameters for starting the program.
For example: if you have game wich enables cheats by launching the program like this
C:\games\game.exe -debug 1
you can fill in debug 1 as the parameter in Traybar.

-Open-
These are also optional. Here you can tell if programs have to be launched
minimized, maximized, hidden or just as normal.

Now you filled out everything just click ADD and the program will be in the menu.

If you made a mistake you can easily correct it with the "change" button.
Just click on the program you want to change something in.
The things you filled out appear in the location/description boxes again.
Just change them.
If you're done changing click on the change button.

From Traybar 2000 beta 3 and on Traybar has an option to drag and drop files
on the configurator. Simply open the configurator and open an Explorer window in
Windows. Select a program and drag it on to Traybar. it will then be added to the menu.

C) REMOVING PROGRAMS AND FOLDERS
---------------------------------
If you want to remove a program: click on it in the program list
and then click the remove button.

D) MOVING PROGRAMS AND FOLDERS IN THE MENU
---------------------------------
If you want to move a program/folder in the menu you can
use the "Move up" and "Down" buttons.
Click on the program in the list and press Move up to move the selected
program one place up in the menu.

If you added a program in a menu but decide it fits better in an other menu
you can rightclick on the item. A menu will pop up. From the Send to: item select the menu
where you want to send the item to.

E) USING SEPARATORS AND SUBMENUS
---------------------------------
To make the menu more logic you can add separators between programs.
Click the "Add separator" button and move the separator to where you want to have it.

An other option of Traybar 2000 is the use of submenus.
Normally the Traybar menu consist of one long list but with submenus you can split up all
your programs in submenus.
Say you have some games, some graphics programs and some folders you use often.
Wouldn't it be great to create 3 submenus named "Games", "Graphics" and "Misc"?
Well you can do just that with Traybar 2000.

In the configurator click on "Add" in the menucontrols.
A new menu will appear wich you can give a name by clicking on it and pressing rename.
Or doubleclicking on it.
You can add 5 menus in this release and you can add up to 50 programs to each menu.
Now to add a program to a submenu click on the menu of your choice in the menulist.
Fill out the location/description and click "Add". The program will now be added
to the selected submenu.

F) CONFIGURING EMAIL CONTACTS
---------------------------------
Of course you noticed that there is a submenu named "Email Menu"
in the menu list of the configurator.
With this menu you can quickly add important contacts To the Traybar menu.
And mail them of course.

If you click on the "Email Menu" in the menulist of the configurator.
There will change a number of things to the configurator.
The location textbox will change into "Name" and the description textbox will become
"Email"
Just fill in the contact's name into the "Name" box
Enter his/her Emailaddress in the "Email" box.
Now click "Add" and the contacts is added to the "Email to:" menu of Traybar.

G) BACKING UP TRAYBAR CONFIGURATIONS
---------------------------------
Of course you want to save your menuconfigurations to the harddisk.
So you can load it again if you have formatted your PC or Windows has crashed.
Traybar saves its settings in a Traybar.ini file in the directorie where you installed Traybar.
Once you have a configuration, which fits you, the only thing you have to do is backup the .ini file.
Easy.

H) The Faststart item
---------------------------------

Traybar also has a feature called Faststart. It was removed from versions 1.40 and on
but users asked me to bring it back. So I did.

Faststart works the same way as the Windows "Run" command from the startmenu.
If you don't want to add a program to the menu but just wan't to run it for a single instance. You can use the Faststart item.

If you don't use the Faststart item, you can disable it in the options.

I) TRAYBARS OPTIONS
---------------------------------

If your not happy with the way Traybar works, maybe you can find what you need
under in the "Options".

Go to "system" and then "options" to open the Options screen.
Here you'll find a number of settings:

* Show Email item: if you don't use the Email option of Traybar why show it?
* Show Faststart item: shows/hides the Faststart item.
* Menu opens with: * Mouse over: the traybar menu pops up if you move your mouse over the
			icon
		   * Left click: menu pops up with a left click
		   * Right click: menu pops up with a right click
		   * Right and left click: menu pops up with a right or a left click
* Trayicon: Use the slider to pick a different icon to display in the systemtray
* Show tooltips: if checked there will be useful tooltips while you hover over buttons and other controls in Traybar.
* Start with Windows: This option makes Traybar start automatically when you start up Windows

-----------------------------------------------------------------
                 	3. TROUBLESHOOTING
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you're experience problems with Traybar maybe you can find an answer in this mini-FAQ.

A)KNOWN ISSUES
---------------------------------

Q: Email to opens 2 emails?
A: Hmm, this only seems to be the case when you're using Netscape.
At the moment I don't have a solution for this.

Q: Email to opens the wrong Email client?
A: Traybar uses the default Email client to send mail.
So if you want Traybar to send mail with Netscape or Eudora
set them as the default mail client.

Q: TrayBar menu doesn't disappear till I click on a menuitem?
A: This only happens when you're using Windows NT / or Windows 2000.
In NT there's nothing you can do about it.
If you're using Windows 2000 you can choose to have the Traybar menu pop up
with a click instead of mouseover.

Q: I can't reach all items in the menu?
A: This happens when you're adding more items than fit on the screen in Win95.
The solution is to install Win98 or higher so the Traybar menu will scroll.
Or to use submenus of course!
Another solution could be to set the resolution of your Windows desktop higher.

Q: There are no icons next to the programs?
A: Thats right! because I still don't know how to do this.
If anybody has any source on how to do this mail me at "rfalcon@dds.nl"

Q: Traybar doesn't open a program but only the explorer?
A: Try to restart Traybar and try again.

If you have a problem that isn't in this Mini-FAQ
you can contact me at "rfalcon@dds.nl" or "phoenix.nimation@12move.nl"
