Slow your Pro

2.0 - Now with three levels of slowdown. Also your settings are
Saved to the registry and restored next time you start
"Slow your Pro". There is now an uninstall option using
Control Panel Add/Remove Software. Sorry still got the
Two single click bug from 1.0. (I'm working on it really!)
BONUS! A challenge to find all of the hidden stuff within
Slow2.0 for free registration. See below for details!

1.0 - First version released to the public.
One Bug left. To slow the computer down the first time the
program starts, will require two single clicks (NOT one
Double-click) of the left mouse button.

This is a small utility that has many uses whether as a prank or for
real applications. It is designed to be easy to use. This program
slows the computer down by tying up as much of the CPU as possible
Therefore the CPU will run at 100% speed for the time that the
computer is running slowly. If your computer is homebuilt or has
any cooling problems use this program at your own risk! If you have
any ideas for improving or features to add to slow please write to
me at the address given below.

Installation:
These steps start Slow Pro every time you start your computer.

	1. Unzip Slow20.zip to the an empty directory
	2. Find slow.inf using "Windows Explorer"
	3. Then Right-Click and select "Install"
	4. All neccessary files will be copied to the
correct directories as well as SloPro
being registered in Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
	5. You may then be prompted to restart your computer.
           Please do so if instructed.

Note 1: This program will not work correctly unless it is installed
	according to these directions.
Note 2: please install FROM a directory with a name shorter than 8
characters even if the directory is nested please make sure
all names leading to it are less than 8 characters. I would
appologize except that this is a Microsoft installation
program that is used throughout Win95 but doesn't support
	long filenames.
Note 3: When installed into Win95 versions other than English you will
need to create a shortcut in the startup folder yourself.

See the Help file for the choices and how to use them.
To use with DOS programs it will be helpful to use the Alt+Tab
feature to switch tasks in Win95.

Example: Left-click on Slow your Pro start your DOS program. then
if while running your DOS program you decide that it can go faster
hold down the Alt key and hit tab then turn off slow with another
Left-click then click on your minimized DOS program and continue.

As to the amount of slowdown to expect, this is a guideline only.
These are actual test machines that were used in beta testing and
my opinion as to how fast they performed.

NOTE: These guidelines apply to the setting "Max Slow"

486/66 24MB of RAM, System almost froze still responds but the
	mouse was very jumpy.

Pentium 120 16MB of RAM, think 386 with Win95 and 4 megs of RAM
Trying to load Microsoft Word95. "Load Time of 5min."

Pentium 200 MMX 64MB of RAM just think of that old 486 you have
sitting in your closet and how much faster it would be than
	your current P200.

I think you are starting to get the idea.

Remember I will not be held responsible for overheating of any computer.
I do ask that if you use this program that you send $5 to the above
address for every computer it is installed on. There are no limitations
to the program that would be done with most "crippleware". Registration
will provide you with the latest version E-Mailed to you for free, a
free concious, and a big thank you from me! Please send $10 for a floppy
version. Checks and Money Orders are preferred by me and the Post Office.
For Foreign registrations please E-mail me for details.

Note: There are many undocumented functions inside of slow 2.0.
None of the functions are necessary they are only there for
your amusment. If you can document all of them for me I will
consider you registered. Otherwise if you register I would
be happy to document them for you. The actual number of bonus
features is up to you to find out as well. Some are useful
some are just there for you to find. In order for me to
confirm the features and how to access them Please include
the time and date of slow.exe

Special thanks to Steve Jackson my Manager for the original idea.
