SETUPUMB.SYS Copyright (c) Lawrence E. Boothby, 1991 <boothbyl@reed.edu>

is a device driver specifically written for the	NEC Information Systems
PowerMate 386 sx Plus computer which provides an extra 128k of UMB (Upper
Memory Block area) without the use of EMM386 by shadowing ram between D000:0000
- E000:0000 and providing memory block headers for MSdos 5.0 or higher.

This driver has four advantages over other approaches to providing UMB memory:
1) The driver requires zero resident bytes after completing its work
2) No XMS memory is used up to be remapped to UMB area.
3) The UMB ram is faster because it is real ram (not v86 emulation)
4) Many drivers and TSR's which fail using EMM386 or other memory management
software can now be loaded in UMB area (including HIMEM.SYS)

While loading, the driver makes the following checks:
1) MSdos 5.0 or higher
2) Correct hardware (looks for string in Rom BIOS)
3) That Rom Bios and Video Bios configured for shadow mode
4) That no option hardware or software	has changed expected values of memory
   mapping port.

(The area D000:0000 - E000:FFFF will not be available for option cards, you
should configure these to addresses in the range C800:0000 - 7FFF)
