Once more I've had a bit of free time available to do some programming, so
I decided to work on something I've needed for a long time -- an IDE for
Assembler. The result was originally BlackCat ASIDE 1.0A - a real mode IDE
which took up too much memory and had heaps of bugs. Since then I've made
some improvements and released BlackCat ASIDE 1.1, a much better IDE which
now runs in protected mode. (You now have as much memory free as your system
contains, rather than about 28K!)

I've only tested the IDE with Borland Turbo Assembler and Borland Turbo
Debugger, with which it works fine - but it should work without any problems
with other Assemblers/Linkers too. Now... what inspired me to give away my
program for free? Money!

ASIDE 1.1 is SHAREWARE, and if you decide to use the program beyond a period
of 30 DAYS then I require you to register your copy.

So... what do I get if I register?

Other than feeling good for giving a poor shareware author a helping hand,
you'll get an improved version of the IDE with many new features and a FULL
HELP SYSTEM. Included in the help system is a complete list of Assembler
instructions with detailed explanations - invaluable for any Assembler
programmer.

You can find out how to register, or just get more information at the
BlackCat ASIDE WWW site:

    http://www.faroc.com.au/~blackcat/ASIDE

Changes from ASIDE 1.0A to ASIDE 1.1:

ASIDE runs in protected mode. Lots more memory is available, but you
     still can't load files > 64K.

    File, Open dialog works properly.

File, Save All and Window, Close All removed... Okay, so I was too
lazy to figure out how to get them working. ;)

Using Window, Debugger no longer crashes the system.

The problem with the tempfile is now fixed. ASIDE automatically deletes
the tempfile when it's done with it, and won't let you use Window,
Output if the tempfile doesn't exist.

The Output Window is numbered correctly, and all editor windows have a
number, so you can use ALT-number to switch between them.
