                                JIDE 1.7

                    Copyright (C) 1998 Ronald Nordberg.

First of all I will send a thousand of thanks to Samuel
Joseph McDonald and His students for their oppinions and
suggestions for this version. This must be the only way to
        do it, listen to others.

A simple IDE for the Sun JDK 1.1.x. It will not work
with version 1.0.x due to some apparently not supported
        runtime flag in those versions.

You MUST have Your CLASSPATH varible set up properly
and Your JDK BIN directory MUST be in Your path.
You also must have the files JIDE.BAT and JRUN.PIF
in the same directory as Jide(sorry about this, havent
found out a solution to get rid of the console window
in any other way). The Cmdline property in the .pif
file options should be set to x:\yourpath\jide.bat and
the rest of the fields should be left as they are.

Just load Your .java file in JIDE, click the
yellowish button(it says Compile if You hold the
mouse pointer above for a while) and off You go.

The file compiled will be displayed in the
status bar at the bottom of the window.
If there were any errors during the compile a
new window will popup. Click on the lines with
the line numbers in this to get to the corresponding
line in the source code window. The proper line will
be scrolled in view and highlighted.

To watch Your compiled source, click the icon
with the magnifying glass, select Your .HTML-
file and Your Appletwiever will be spawned.

You can set a default paht for Your source files
by clicking the icon with a road dissapering in the
distance (path). The Executables Location input
field are disabled right now. If You NOT set a
default path the program will keep on asking You
for one each time You start it.

You can resize the font size in each doc
        individually with the spin buttons.
If You chekmark the checkbox called wordwrap
all docs will be set to wordwrap mode.

The tabs are set by doubleclicking on the desired
location in the tab area. Press then button named
clear tabs to clear all tabs. An already existing
tab stop can be moved by dragging it with the mouse.
