Hi and thankyou for using my hastily updated version of RPPGUI the
user interface for rpp (r!sc process patcher).

RPP.EXE is a process patch creator, creates a win32.exe from a simple script,
which will then load a process, and wait for it to unpack/deprotect itself,
then patch the memory to fix any bugs that the author left in the program,
y'no, like NAG screens, or silly 30 day trials, and its the only one of its
 kind!!! (which produces a stand-alone win32 exe) i cheat a bit by using a
precompiled loader, and just altering the data in it, but who cares...

RPPGUI.EXE is a Graphical User Interface for use with R!SC's Process Patcher.
r!sc has created a great program that can use simple scripts to create
stand-alone executables that will load and then patch (in memory) whatever
program you want. This is extremely useful for patching programs that are
packed, or encoded. My GUI is just an easier way of creating scripts, without
hassle and (usually) error free. I find that trying to handle all those scripts
with notepad was annoying, so my program is the solution. The GUI also has hints
galore in the 'Script Wizard'. My hints explain all the parts of the script
creation process. After using the Script Wizard to create a new script, you can
then (in one click) save and build it with r!sc's process patcher exe.

I hope you find the tool useful. I will do my best to make it newbie compatible
(if such a thing is possible). I have tried to save as much space as i can, so
the executable is packed (Im sorry for the size :]).

I will now try and describe how best to use this application.

 WIZARD
 ------

The Script Wizard should be able to build you an errorless script quickly,
provided you know what to put and where...;)

 STEP #1...

First step is to put the program you are patching into the boxes provided.
then you should put your nick/name into the next box. This serves for easy
reference only. It is not needed for an operational loader.

 STEP #2...

Type in (or use the default) number of times to try patch the program before the
loader gives up and decides that something is wrong...If you dont understand
this then leave it as default.

Next select the filename of the program that you will be patching/loading.
Below that type in the filename the LOADER will be using...This cannot be the
 same as the ORIGINAL filename.

 STEP #3...

OK...Type in your RVA (Virtual Address) where you will be patching the program.
It will probably be 4xxxxx but it depends what the base address is. Once yo have
found the address using a debugger or disassembler, type it in the box.

Now all you have to do is to type in what bytes EXIST at the Virtual Address you
provided and make sure it is in this exact format:

                                  XX,XX,XX,XX,etc...

Where XX is the exact byte.

Press the '+' button to add it to the string-grid. Repeat this as many times as
 you want...

When you have finished press Finish and viola! err...an errorless script ready
to be compiled using r!sc most magnificent process patcher ;)

Now just press the 'Save and Build Script' button and YAY!

HOW TO USE THE ICON FEATURE
 ---------------------------

This feature enables you to select any 32x32 16 color, icon (must be 766 bytes)
and it will then jam that icon into the loader.exe file of your choice ;)

 NEW FEATURES THIS VERSION

Fixed a bug that buggered the command line parser to rpp.exe

 Added scrollbars ;)
