How to use String Checker 9000.

String Checker 9000 is used to check if a string typed into the box on the top of the
screen is either a valid C identifier or a Pascal 'real literal.' C identifiers, for
all you non-programmers, contain only letters, numbers, and underscores '_', and must
start with a letter or number. Pascal real literals are numbers that can contain only
numbers, the decimal point '.', and the exponent 'E'. The decimal point and E must
have numbers before and after them tp be correct.

 Why String Checker 9000?

I have a weird thing about naming my programs. I also have a weird thing about using
old movie quotes as error messages but that's another whole topics. :) I just like
using stupid numbers and names in my program names, kinda like the MegaSearcher 2000Z
I wrote awhile ago. I know it's dumb but what are you gonna do?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you use String Checker 9000 all I ask is that you send me a postcard with
something identifing the city you live in on it. I know this prog isn't very useful,
okay it's not at all useful, but I just want to find out who all is visiting my little
webpage and downloading my software.

To quote one of the greatest half-wits this country has ever produced:

A postcard - Cheap!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This program was my first assignment for Computer Science 131 - Computer Systems. I
wrote the original under Linux using GNU g++ and ported it to MS Visual C++ 5
basically to help teach myself MSVC++. I've never programmed under Windows before
but I found VC++ 5 Professional for only $110 from Journey Education Marketing
(www.journeyed.com) so I went ahead and got it. I know this program is basically
useless but still, it's mine and I like it.

If you have any questions or comments please contact me.
