Per support info, please read the following few
               paragraphs.

30 July 2002: Please read the section below about Regestry entrys,
and deleting them with the "Special" menu item.
Especially take caution under NT versions of Windows.
NT deletes register entries differently than the 9x family
of Windows. It is better to be safe than sorry, so
manually delete the key if you have any doubts.
The full key name is listed below.

30 July 2002: Please note that VNBASM has changed a bit with
due to Workspaces and the such. However, I have
not updated the documentation below. It is pretty
               self explanitory.

30 July 2002: Please note that I do not support this IDE.
It is simply for the convienent use of Windows
and NBASM. Nothing more. In fact, it has many
changes that will probably change again. I use
it to test NBASM, view .ASM files, etc. I wouldn't
release it, except that it may convienent you too.
Sorry, but VNBASM is not very well supported.

However, NBASM is fully supported :)

Other than a little about the Registry the rest
               of the documentation is unchanged.

30 July 2002: Thank you.

[ If you are upgrading an existing VNBASM version, you can simply ]
[ overwrite the existing files. The new VNBASM will use your ]
[ existing registry settings. ]

VNBASM is an Intergraded Development Environment (IDE) for NBASM
that uses:
  color highlighting (slow)
  smart tabs
  easy access toolbars
  tree listings
  intergraded NBASM support
  tips
and many other things to come.

VNBASM is a Windows 9x application but should run quite well in
most newer Windows versions.

Since VNBASM is a beta release and needs some work, please
** Use VNBASM at your own risk **

VNBASM requires NBASM version 00.24.90 or above. You may get
 NBASM from:
     http://www.cybertrails.com/~fys/newbasic.htm

To check for the latest versions of NBASM and VNBASM, use the
'check version' menu item under the 'internet' menu.

To use VNBASM:
  - Simply unzip the VNBASM.ZIP file in any new directory.
Make sure you keep directories intact.
If you use PKUNZIP, use the -d parameter. Winzip should
    keep directories intact for you.

  - Now simply exectute VNBASM.EXE by means of double clicking
it in Explorer, or using the RUN command. You may also create
a shortcut to it if you would like.

  - The first time you run VNBASM, a "First time" dialog will
display. Please enter the correct directory where you have
VNBASM located. Then hit the scroll down arrow, and the
    accept button to continue.

VNBASM will create an key in the Registery under:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Forever Young Software/nbasm

Under this key, VNBASM will keep track of your preferences.
If for any reason, you would like to delete VNBASM, simply
use REGEDIT and delete the above key when you delete VNBASM.
Or use the added "SPECIAL" menu item to delete them.
(A note about this menu item. I works most of the time, but
sometimes down not actually delete the key itself. All items
     but not the key.
****** Unknown results when used in Win NT. ********

As long as this key remains intact and you do not move
the VNBASM files, the above "first time" screen will not
    show again.

  - VNBASM has set the "start with empty document" flag under
the editor properties dialog by default. You may go to
"editor properties" under the "view" menu and set the properties
    as you would like.

  - Please note that even though the "use formatting" function works
somewhat as expected, it is very slow. If you would like to
use color highlighting in your source, go ahead and do so. However,
    it is quite slow.

  - Now that you have VNBASM setup and a clean document, you may
start typing your source. Once you have typed your source, you
may use the "make" menu or the "make" icons on the toolbar
to "check the syntax" or "assemble" your source.

  - You will need to tell VNBASM where NBASM is located before you
can build a file or project. You only have to do this once, as
long as the registry is intact.

  - Go to the "make" menu and select "Settings". Then in the edit
box, type the directory that contains NBASM. You may also click
on the browse button (...) to the right to search for the directory.

  - Please note that a "build" window will show after the assembler
returns if you had any errors. Simply choose an error line, and
press the "go to" button. VNBASM will take you right there.

  - If your source did not have any errors, a small message box will
show stating so, and your valid .com file should be in the same
    directory as the source file.

  - Please note that anytime you use the "make" commands, VNBASM
will save your source files automatically.

- - Projects:
  - To create a project (workspace), simply select "new project item"
under the "project" menu. Then select type of project you would
like. After nameing the project, click the OK button. VNBASM
will create and open any necassary files associated to that type
of project. VNBASM uses the .NBW extention for workspaces.

  - Use the "save workspace" and "open workspace" menu items under the
"file" menu to save and open these projects.

- - By default, VNBASM lists all files in the "tree list" toolbar at the
left of the screen. This toolbar is movable (dockable) and can be
hidden. Simply double click any file to make it the current active
    file in the view pane.

Please note that VNBASM is not anywhere near complete and probably has
 many errors and improvement needs.

However, I am releasing it for your benefit. Please let me know if
you find any errors. Also, if you think of an improvement that I
could add to VNBASM, please let me know.

Thanks,

Ben
