24/04/97 Found the "MS Office bug": can't solve it!

What is FastEdit ?
------------------
FastEdit is a simple utility that allows you open any file (registered and unregistered) with MS Notepad.

Using conditions
----------------
FastEdit is MailWare. Please e-mail me if you use it.

You can distribute FastEdit without limitations.

How install and remove it ?
---------------------------
  To install:
   - Decompress FastEdit.zip into a temporary folder.
   - Double click FastEdit.exe and follow the instructions.

  To uninstall:
   - Open the Control panel.
   - Open "Add/Remove Programs".
   - Select "FastEdit by NV" then click the button marked "Add/Remove".

How does it work ?
------------------
Right click any file and choose "FastEdit".
You can simple double click any unregistered file.

Know problems using MS Office Toolbar or Lotus SmartCenter
----------------------------------------------------------
You will have some problems using MS Office Toolbar with FastEdit.
When you click a button (that is a shortcut) you will open
  that shortcut with MS Notepad.

A solution could be this one:
   - right click the button on the MS Office Toolbar
   - choose "Open"

I understand that is a little complex and boring.
I think there is not a solution of this bug, because the MS Office
Toolbar is programmed to use the first command in the pop-up menu,
that always is 'Open'. When you install FastEdit, it becomes the first
  command.

All these concepts are applicable to the Lotus SmartCenter.

If you have some ideas to find a solution, please contact me.

When I'll fix this bug I'll make available a new version of FastEdit.
