Short: A versatile replacement for IconX Author: thomas.richter@alumni.tu-berlin.de (Thomas Richter) Uploader: thomas richter alumni tu-berlin de (Thomas Richter) Type: util/wb Version: 3.10 Requires: An Amiga. Any Os, any version will do. (Even 1.2...) Architecture: m68k-amigaos This is a very flexible replacement for C='s IconX command, i.e. CLICon can launch shell programs from the workbench. Additional to what IconX does, CLICon scripts accept extended-selected icons as arguments, the script itself can stored in a batch file or in the icon itself; even more, two scripts per icon are possible. As a second tool, WBLoad is included, which does the opposite of CLICon: It launches a workbench program from the shell, providing all necessary startup messages. Many examples are included, too (since I personally found the guide is confusing... ;-) _____________________________________________________________________________ New in 3.10: Fast forward, 26 years later... CLICon has been slightly reworked. It now uses standard system requesters for Kickstart 2.04 or better, and it is now aware of the BCPL escape sequences of the Amiga shell. WBLoad has also been updated to recognize standard BCPL escape sequences on its command line parser. Users of Kick 3.1.4 or better should probably still prefer the official WBLoad shell command. _____________________________________________________________________________ New in 3.07.1: Fixed a bug in WBLoad which could have caused enforcer hits or worse. This is the same bug that has been removed in the SetVNC program of the ViNCEd package. _____________________________________________________________________________ Thomas, September 2026
