DNS Zone Template

This page allows the Administrator to create default DNS zone templates. Such are needed to simplify setting up DNS zone records for a new domain.

It is possible not to enter the precise name of the new domain or the IP-address. Instead, the following substitutions are made available: <domain>, which is then replaced with the domain name, and <ip>, which is replaced by the primary IP address.

NOTE: a newly created DNS template does not affect DNS zone records settings for the already existing domains. The only domains that it will be applied to are the new domains.

To add a new template record, first select the type of record from the Record type drop-down list, and click Add.

To remove a template record, select a corresponding checkbox, and click Remove Selected.

For detailed definitions on the DNS record types, refer to the user manual.

Click the Enable/Disable button at the top of the page to activate/deactivate the DNS zone.

The Default button will restore the default DNS zone template.

Click on the Up Level icon or the appropriate shortcut to return to the previous page.
