This is a special release of the Ladebug(tm) debugger to accompany the
beta testing of Compaq(tm) Fortran Compiler for Alpha(tm) Linux systems.

This version does not correspond to any previously released version of the
Ladebug debugger for Tru64(tm) systems.

The debugger understands ELF object files containing Dwarf2 debugging
information. Most compilers for Alpha Linux systems do not put out Dwarf2,
and hence debugging within such .o files will be severely limited. The
Compaq Fortran Compiler does put out Dwarf2 debugging information.

This release contains

    This README file

    A release-notes file, currently empty

A ladebug.1 man page file, currently very rough

The ladebug executable file, which requires no special installation.
A normal user can run it from any directory.

A preliminary version of a new ladebug manual, in two .html files
    	ladebug-manual-primary.html
    	ladebug-manual-details.html

If you are familiar with the ladebug debugger on Compaq Tru64 systems,
you will have no troubles adapting to this Linux version.

The ladebug-manual-primary.html contains enough information to learn how
to use the debugger without any prior experience. However it is still
very preliminary. It contains instructions about reporting problems.

The ladebug-manual-details.html is even more preliminary. It includes the
grammars that are used by ladebug to parse language-specific expressions.
