Abstract:

This package contains bash scripts to be used with the SmartStart Scripting
Toolkit for Linux to deploy HP ProLiant servers.

Audience assumptions
The Toolkit is designed for IT experts with experience in bash scripting,
operating system installations, and configuring ProLiant server hardware.

CAUTION:
Improper use of the Toolkit utilities can result in loss of critical data.
Because of the potential data-loss risk, only experienced individuals should
use the Toolkit utilities. Before using the Toolkit, all necessary precautions
must be taken to ensure that mission-critical systems remain on-line if a
failure occurs.

Installation Quick Start:

Before you start, register and download the latest release of the SmartStart
Scripting Toolkit for Linux from the HP website.

http://www.hp.com/servers/sstoolkit

This package and the scripts it contains were created using the following
directory structures.

The root of the toolkit is /opt/SSSTK and /opt/SSSTK_PROFILES

These can either be real directories, or soft links to where the
Toolkit resides.

If you choose to install into another directory structure you will need
to modify the directories in /boot_files/pxelinux.cfg/default and
/scripts/includes

Before using any of these scripts you should read the Toolkit Users Guide.

Because of the 255 character limit for the Linux boot kernel append
line, one needs to keep the path names relatively short.

The following are not included in the toolkit as distributed by HP

/firmware
/images
/psp
/libs
along with the files in /scripts

Before you untar this package into your toolkit directory, install the Toolkit
tarball from the HP website listed above. Delete the files in the /scripts
directory.

NFS and Apache are required for OS deployment. Example configuration files
are listed below. The scripts have comments embedded that explain their functions.

EXAMPLE /etc/exports

# NFS mount points for toolkit

/opt/SSSTK/ *(ro,no_root_squash,sync)
/opt/SSSTK_PROFILES/ *(rw,no_root_squash,sync)

# end /etc/exports

EXAMPLE apache2.install.server.conf

# httpd configuration for Installation Server included by httpd.conf
    Alias /LinuxCOE/ /srv/LinuxCOE/
    <Directory /srv/LinuxCOE/>

        Options +Indexes +FollowSymLinks
        IndexOptions +NameWidth=*

        Order allow,deny
        Allow from all

    </Directory>

# end apache2.install.server.conf
