For Linux distributions,the Compaq Survey Utility is available as a Red Hat Package Manager file (RPM). As with every RPM file the following options are available: you may install, query, refresh and uninstall the package.
Version 1.0.0 of the Compaq Survey Utility has been tested and supported on the Compaq products as outlined in our Linux Operating System Support Matrix and Linux Storage Option Support Matrix linked below. Survey currently is supported on the following Linux distributions: RedHat Linux 6.2, 7.0;7.1, Caldera eServer 2.3.1;OpenLinux Server 3.1, SuSE 7.0; and TurboLinux 6.0.5.

After obtaining the RPM file, login as root and type the following to install the utility:
rpm --Uvh survey.rpm
The survey package installs itself and all related files in the directory: /opt/compaq/survey
/opt/compaq/survey/survey: Survey executable.
/opt/compaq/survey/survey.ids: PCI ID reference file.
/opt/compaq/survey/surveywebd: Survey web interface.
/opt/compaq/survey/libcpqhmmo.so: Library for web support.
/var/compaq/survey/: Directory where Survey creates its output files by default.
