Survey Utility Report Example

The Survey Utility Report is divided into four sections:

From a browser, you can view or print the Survey Utility Report by selecting the Report link from the Compaq Survey Utility page. Refer to Using Compaq Survey Utility from your browser for more information.

On a Windows or NetWare server, this report is saved to a file called SURVEY.TXT. This file is stored in the C:\COMPAQ\SURVEY directory on a Windows server and in the SYS:SYSTEM directory on a NetWare server. Use any text editor to view or print SURVEY.TXT.

On a Linux server, output is stored in the survey-CCYY-MM-DD-HH-mm-ss.txt file (the double letters represent the date and time when the utility was run). This file is located in the /var/compaq/survey directory. Use any text editor to view or print the output file.

An abbreviated example of SURVEY.TXT is provided below.

NOTE: A indicates a current state in the primary session, and a indicates a previous state in the comparison session.

The example above shows that several changes have occurred. The first indicates that a NetFlex™-3/E board is now installed in slot 2. The on the following line indicates that the slot was previously empty. The next indicates that slot 3 is now empty. The indicates that a Thomas Conrad 3147 board has previously been in the slot.
