This section displays details on the device environment. The following information is available.
allows you to designate what action will be taken when the overall temperature becomes degraded. The options are:
Continue - The health or wellness driver will signal the operating system to continue functioning in situations where the temperature is too high or too low. In more serious temperature situations, the device shuts down automatically.
Shut Down - The health or wellness driver will signal the operating system to shut down in situations where the temperature is too high or too low. In more serious temperature situations, the device shuts down automatically.
Unknown - You may need to upgrade your driver software or Server Agents or the Server Agent cannot determine the status of the device.
specifies the overall condition of the system's thermal environment.
This section displays an entry for each of the temperature sensors. The following parameters will be displayed for each temperature sensor:
Sensor - The index of the temperature sensor.
Location - The location of the temperature sensor. The location will be one of the following -
CPU
Memory
IO Board
System Board
Storage
Bridge Card
Removable Media
System
Unknown
Other
Chassis
Ambient
Power Supply
CAUTION: Do not operate the system with the cover removed. Proper airflow is possible only when the cover is in place and properly secured.
Temperature - The current temperature sensor reading in degrees celsius
Threshold - The shutdown threshold temperature sensor setting in degrees celsius. This is the temperature at which the system will be shut down. Note that only the Ambient zone type allows setting of the threshold temperature.
Type - This specifies the type of this instance of temperature sensor. This value will be one of the following:
Unknown - Temperature threshold type could not be determined.
Blowout - If a blowout temperature sensor reaches its threshold, the fan or fans in the area of the temperature sensor will increase in speed in an attempt to reduce the temperature before a caution or critical threshold is reached.
Caution - If a caution temperature sensor reaches its threshold, the temperature condition will be set to degraded and the system will either continue or shutdown depending on the setting of Thermal Degraded Action.
Critical - If a critical temperature sensor reaches its threshold, the temperature condition will be set to failed and the system will shutdown.
This section displays an entry for each of the device or system processor fans if fault tolerant fans are present on the system.
Fan - The index of the fan.
Location - The location of the fan in the system.

Type - This specifies the type of the fan. This will be one of the following values:
Unknown - The type of fan could not be determined.
Tach Output - The fan can increase speed for greater cooling.
Spin Detect - The fan can detect when the fan stops spinning.
Present - This specifies if the fan described is present in the system. This will be one of the following values:
Unknown
Absent
Present
Hot Pluggable - This indicates if the fan is capable of being removed and/or inserted while the system is in an operational state. This will be one of the following values:
Unknown - The state could not be determined.
Not Hot Plug - The fan is not hot plug capable.
Hot Plug - The fan is hot plug capable and can be removed if the system is operating in a redundant state. A fan may be added to an empty fan bay.
Speed - This specifies the speed of the fan. This value will be set if the fan type is tachOutput. This will be one of the following values:
Unknown
Normal
High
Redundant - This specifies if the fan is in a redundant configuration. This will be one of the following values:
Unknown
Not Redundant
Redundant
This section displays an entry for each thermal fan(system or cpu) if present on the system.
Index - The index of the fan.
Type - The type of the fan in the system. This specifies if the described fan is intended specifically to cool the CPU(s).
Unknown
System Fan
CPU Fan
Status - The status of the fan in the system. This specifies if the fan described is operating properly.
OK - The fan is operational.
Failed - The fan has failed. The device will shut down automatically to prevent damage to hardware or data loss. Replace the fan.
Unknown - You may need to upgrade your driver software or Server Agents and the Server Agent cannot determine the status of this setting.
