<h2>Explanation:</h2>
<p>The HP Storage Manager could not communicate
with the HP Storage Manager client on the remote system.
<h2>Action:</h2>
 <ol>
  <li><a href="cvragent.htm">Verify that the HP Storage Manager agent or console
    is running on the remote system</a>.<br>
    <br>
  </li>
  <li>Verify that the port number specified for the remote system in the &quot;<a href="aaddrem.htm">Add
    remote system</a>&quot; window matches the value on the remote system. You
    can verify the port number on the remote system by going to the HP Storage Manager running on that system and doing the following:
    <ol>
      <li>Click <strong>Agent actions <img src="images/menuarow.gif" width="32" height="10" align="absbottom" border="0"></strong>
        <strong>Configure</strong>.</li>
      <li>Click the <b>General settings</b> tab. </li>
      <li>Verify the value for the port number. The default port numbers for remote
        access are 34571-34574.<br>
      </li>
    </ol>

  <li>Verify the following:
    <ol>
      <li>The remote system is on.</li>
      <li>Both the local and remote systems are connected to the network.</li>
      <li> TCP/IP networking support is configured on both the local and remote
        systems.</li>
      <li>The host name of the remote system is defined in the Domain Name Server
        or a Hosts file, if you are trying to connect using a host name.</li>
      <li>The network is functioning.</li>
    </ol>
  </li>
</ol>

<p><b><img src="images/note.gif" width="15" height="17"> Note:</b> If the local
  HP Storage Manager is trying to connect to a remote system that has multiple
  network adapters, the local HP Storage Manager must use a host name to connect
  to the remote system. </p>
