Configuration Overview

Each time you run the Compaq Array Configuration Utility, it analyzes the configuration of the Compaq Array Controllers installed in the system. From the Main page, you have various options to change or reconfigure your controller.

Express Configuration
Select Express Configuration to be asked a few simple questions and allow the controller to be configured automatically. The Express configuration is the easiest and fastest way to configure your controller and will provide the most reasonable configuration possible.

Assisted Configuration
Select Assisted Configuration to configure your controller through a series of wizards, which will guide you through the process. Choosing Assisted Configuration is not the fastest or easiest way to configure your controller, but it does offer more control over the configuration and provides for a more individualistic setup.

Advanced Configuration
Select Advanced Configuration to quickly configure your controller. Choosing Advanced Configuration is the fastest way to configure your controller but requires an advanced level of knowledge concerning storage. The Advanced Configuration path offers the least amount of help or step-by-step guides and does not provide a FAQ panel. Rather it relies on the fact the user knows exactly what they would like to accomplish and are very familiar with the concepts required to complete the task.

Note: Internal controllers are identified by slot number, and Fibre Channel controllers are identified by RAID Array ID.
