Getting Started

To start using the Version Control Repository Manager and the Version Control Agent, use the following steps as a guideline for installing and configuring your machines properly:

  1. Verify that your system meets minimum requirements.

  2. Install and configure the Version Control Repository Manager with the ProLiant Support Pack on a machine accessible to the machine you are updating from as well as the target machine. Install the Version Control Repository Manager on one machine only. However, you can have more than one repository. The machine that has the Version Control Repository Manager installed does not require the Version Control Agent to be installed.

  3. Install and configure the Version Control Agent on the target machine(s). Installing the Version Control Repository Manager prior to installing the Version Control Agent allows you to configure the Version Control Agent to use data in the repository specified via the Change the Agent Settings link in the Version Control Agent. For more information regarding installing the Version Control Repository Manager, refer to the Version Control Repository Manager Installation Process.

  4. Browse to the System Management Homepage located at https://devicename:2381 to log in.

  5. Configure the Version Control Agent to use data provided by the repository defined via the Change the Agent Settings link.
