Navigate to https://devicename:2381. The Login page is displayed if Anonymous Access is disabled. If Anonymous Access is enabled, the System Management Homepage is displayed.
If you are accessing the Version Control Agent on a system that does not have the Version Control Repository Manager installed, you must use your Management HTTP Server password to login to the Version Control Agent. For more information regarding the Management HTTP Server, refer to Appendix B in the Version Control User Guide.
After you have logged in, the System Management Homepage is displayed.
Click the Version Control Agent icon. The Home page is displayed.
If a Version Control Repository Manager has not been configured, only the Software and Firmware Inventory of items currently installed on the system are displayed on the Home page. The Version Control Agent settings must be configured for full functionality.
For Windows operating systems, you must install version 5.40 or later of the HP Insight Management Agents to obtain any inventory data. For Linux operating systems, you must install version 7.0 or later of the hpasm RPM to obtain any inventory data. HP recommends installing the current version that is in the same Support Pack that the Version Control Agent is in.
If the HP Insight Management Agents are not installed, software inventory cannot be collected by the Version Control Agent. It can still be used to install software, however.
The Operator login and the Administrator login have the same privileges in the Version Control Agent.
To access the Version Control Agent on a Linux operating system, open your browser and navigate to:

If you are accessing the Version Control Agent on a system that does not have the Version Control Repository Manager installed, you must use your Management HTTP Server password to login to the Version Control Agent.
