This firmware upgrade is specifically designed for the HP workstation versions of specific Seagate Cheetah 10K.6 and 15K.3 SCSI Hard Disk Drives.

The following drive ID strings and firmware revision levels (visible with most drive inquiry tools) correspond to drives for which this upgrade is applicable:

- (SEAGATE ST373307LW, HPS3 or HPS4)
- (SEAGATE ST3146807LW, HPS3 or HPS4)
- (SEAGATE ST318453LW, HPS1 or HPS2)
- (SEAGATE ST336753LW, HPS1 or HPS2)
- (SEAGATE ST373453LW, HPS1 or HPS2).

It is not recommended to even attempt to apply it to drives other than those identified above. This firmware upgrade is compatible with the firmware download utility for Windows provided in SoftPaq SP24527 on the HP Workstations support website (see HOW TO USE instructions below).
