This SoftPaq contains utilities that can be used to restore or update the system BIOS on the listed desktop models with a 786C1 BIOS.

Several methods for changing the BIOS version may be chosen. Included in this SoftPaq are the following methods:
- Create a ROMpaq bootable BIOS upgrade/restore diskette
- Use HPQFlash to upgrade the BIOS directly in the Windows environment
- Create a ROMpaq bootable BIOS upgrade/restore CD 

This SoftPaq has the ability to be used with SSM, HPCMS, or PXE management software for remote updating of the BIOS.

The BIOS Family and BIOS date can be determined by pressing F10 on the target computer during system Power On to run the Setup Utility, and then selecting File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file on a diskette or on a USB flash media device by selecting File/Save to Diskette. In order for a USB flash media device to be recognized by the system, the device must be attached before the computer is Powered On.
