NOTE: Intel Speedstep for Microsoft Windows 2000 only installs and functions on single-core CPUs.  Consequently, multiple-core CPUs must be configured as a single-core CPU before installing Intel Speedstep for Microsoft Windows 2000.  Complete the following steps to disable dual-core functionality on multiple-core CPUs:

1. Start (boot) the notebook and press F10 to enter the BIOS configuration utility.

2. Select System Configuration, then select Device Configuration, and then press Enter.

3. Select Dual Core CPU and then use the right or left arrow keys to change the setting to Disable.

4. Press F10 to accept the settings change.

5. Press F10 again, then save the changes, and exit.
