** I. Quick Setup Instructions **
*********************************

You MUST be ROOT, WITH NO X-SERVER RUNNING!

	** CONFIGURE **
To install and configure this driver package, execute
	the provided script:

	$ ./configure

NOTES: This will use the nvidia-installer mechanism
to install a precompiled kernel module for your kernel.
If no precompiled module is available, it will attempt
to build against the current running kernel. A standard
XF86Config/xorg.conf file is put in place under /etc/X11/.
Once complete, you should be able to 'startx', although
you may need to customize the XF86Config file for your
        configuration.

WARNING: Every time you change kernels, either from UP to
SMP or some other errata kernel, this driver package will
attempt (via init script 'nvconfig') to reconfigure itself
in the same manner. For this to be successful, the matching
	kernel-source MUST be in place!

	** UNCONFIGURE **
To unconfigure the NVIDIA driver package from your system,
	execute the provided script:

	$ ./unconfigure

NOTES: Once complete, your system will be put back to a
non-accelerated state. This does not remove the RPM package.

** II. Directory Contents **
****************************

	** configure / unconfigure **
These are two helper config scripts to aid in quick
	configuration/unconfiguration of the accelerated driver.

	** LICENSE **
End user license agreement for NVIDIA drivers.

	** DEVICES **
The 'DEVICES' file lists graphcis devices that have been
thoroughly tested and are qualified by HP with this software.
Other devices, although they may run with this driver, may not
be supported and qualified by HP.

	** driver/ **
Contains actual driver package provided by NVIDIA.

	** nvidia_docs/ **
Directory with useful documention from Nvidia relevant to
        this release.

	** example_configs/ **
This directory contains just a couple sample XF86Config and
xorg.conf files that are meant to only demonstrate some common
configurations. The config file with the nvidiaStandard
extension is installed by default when this package is configured.

	** include/GL/ **
Contains the expected GL subdirectory which in turn contains
NVIDIA's OpenGL header files specific to this driver release.
In some cases, you may want to link against these headers as
oposed to the MESA headers - this directory is for that purpose.

** III. HP Packaged NVIDIA RPM Internals **
*******************************************

This HP packaged NVIDIA driver RPM contains useful utilities
to help relieve some of the manual processes in configuring
	accelerated drivers for Linux.

It wraps NVIDIA's provided .run driver package with added
documentation, example configurations, and helper scripts.

An init script 'nvconfig' is also put on the system. Each
boot of the machine invokes this script to check the state of
the accelerated driver against the current running kernel. It
builds and adds additional driver modules as needed. This is
so you can update, change kernels, without needing to manually
reconfigure accelerated graphics. HOWEVER --> matching kernel-
source MUST be installed for this to be successful!!!

** IV. About NVIDIA .run Driver Package **
******************************************

NVIDIA's .run driver package is a self extracting program that
can be run with several options.

When the nvidia driver is installed, the following utility
	programs are installed to '/usr/bin':

nvidia-installer: The main install/uninstall utility program
			  	for the NVIDIA driver.

nvidia-settings: New X applet tool that allows real-time
changes to hardware settings and color
			  	icorrection.

nvidia-xconfig: A command line tool for manipulating X
			  	configuration files, specificlaly to enable
			  	nVIDIA accelerated X driver functionality.

nvidia-bug-report.sh:	A bash shell script that will collect system
				information, configuration, and log files
output that is key for debugging purposes.

				** NOTE:
You can expect HP to ask for a nvidia-bug-report
when contacting HP for any graphics related support.

For help with using the NVIDIA .run driver package, or any of
the utilities,	you can execute either with a '-h' or '--help' flag for a list
	of options and how-to information.
