Yo!

In comp.binaries.cbm you wrote:

I tried it out and found five things to improve about it:

(1) It asks you for the output filename when that is readily available from
    the uuencoded data.

(2) It only decodes the first file found in the uuencoded data; for decoding
ACE, which is what the BASIC decoder is presumably for (to decode a faster
uudecoder), you'll want to decode multiple files from uuencoded data.

(3) The program uses the variable "do", which is a keyword in BASIC 7.0
which causes syntax errors when the program is run in 128 mode.

(4) The program cannot handle the back-quote (`) character that is often used
in place of the troublesome space character in uuencoding (although
we want the decoder to handle space also).

(5) The program produces output that is the wrong size if a line (the
last line) contains a number of data bytes that is not a multiple of 3.

So, not being one to complain without having a solution (well, here anyway),
here is a new and improved version of the BASIC uudecoder that corrects all
five of the above problems. Feel free to post it to comp.binaries.cbm.
