Mute 0.1.1 (Bark Beetle)
http://trac.zeitherrschaft.org/zzub

Mute is an extensible modular sequencer/tracker, designed to be 1:1
compatible to Jeskola Buzz, currently in development stage. It is primarily
being developed for the Linux operating system, but also builds and runs on
Windows. If you want to help with testing or building packages, or if you
just want to hang around, visit ##mute on irc.freenode.net

== Linux Build Instructions ==

=== Configuring and Building ===

First make sure you have these libraries and tools installed:

 * python 2.4 ( http://www.python.org/ )
 * wxPython 2.6 ( http://www.wxpython.org/ )
 * libsndfile ( http://www.mega-nerd.com/libsndfile/ )
 * ctypes for Python 2.4 ( http://starship.python.net/crew/theller/ctypes/ )
 * SCons ( http://www.scons.org/ )
 * Subversion ( http://subversion.tigris.org/ )
 * gcc/g++ ( http://gcc.gnu.org/ )
 * LADSPA SDK ( http://www.ladspa.org/ )
 * libjack (http://jackaudio.org/ )
 * libalsa ( http://www.alsa-project.org/ )

For Debian/Ubuntu, you're going to need following packages:

# sudo apt-get install build-essential python2.4 python-wxgtk2.6\
 libsndfile1 libsndfile1-dev scons ladspa-sdk python-ctypes libasound2-dev\
 libjack0.100.0-dev

Now build the entire zzub tree:

# scons

If that worked, install mute:

# sudo scons install

To uninstall and clean the zzub tree later on, try:

# sudo scons -c install

=== Testing ===

Now you're ready to run mute:

[paniq@aspera zzub]$ mute
enumerating /usr/local/lib/zzub/libMatilde Tracker.so
loading machine '/usr/local/lib/zzub/libMatilde Tracker.so'
...

Try loading test/test.bmx for a sound test. You should hear some junglist
massive.

=== Troubleshooting ===

 * Q: I get a Segmentation Fault when I start mute with jack enabled.
 * A: current svn (2006-10-04) has a broken Jack. Try applying
      http://www.portaudio.com/trac/ticket/24 to the portaudio source tree.
