AVI capture Driver/MCI Driver release 2.1

Release 2.1 has a combined AVI/MCI release on a single diskette.
A separate floppy is used for the sample/applet source release.
Inorder to install this release, please do the following.

1) Bootup in DOS. (Exit windows if you are in windows). Then run
the cleanup bat file pcvclean.bat as follows:

   c:> a:\pcvclean <drive> <windows directory> e.g

   c:> a:\pcvclean c win31

This will remove all old files that this installation replaces.
This installation will re-install the pcvideo.dll and *.ini files
which are identical to the PcVideo installation. These files are
on this diskette for sake of completion.

2) Boot windows. Please note that the AVI Capture driver will only
work in windows 3.1. Also plaese note that it will only work with
the final beta and later releases of AVI. Check the date on the
AVI application videdit.exe and vidcap.exe. The final beta release
has dates 8-20-92 and 8-18-92 respectively. An AVI release of this
or later dates should be OK.

3) Invoke the control panel and click on the drivers installation
applet. Remove any older versions of the AVI and MCI overlay
drivers. Windows may ask you if you wish to reboot. Refuse and
   proceed to step 4.

4) Click on ADD button and choose Unknown driver load option. Make
sure the installation floppy is in the proper drive and choose
OK. This will bring up the driver list.

5) First install the MCI driver. If you ran pcvclean, windows will
not question you about replacing the current version and things
will proceed smoothly. Use the SETUP option in the driver's inta-
llation applet to select the proper board type.

6) Now install the AVI capture driver by repeating step 4. This
time choose the AVI capture driver. It is absolutely necessary
that the MCI driver be installed first since the AVI driver setup
   requires proper BOARD TYPE.

7) The AVI driver setup allows the user to choose base port address,
Vsync interrupt number and base address for the on board memory.

8) Reboot windows.

9) Invoke the control panel. You will find that a driver applet
"Chips MCI PC Video" has been installed in the control panel.
Invoke the MCI demo application (mcidemo.exe) copied to the
"windows" system directory, and use the applet to align video
and adjust color. The "winvideo.exe" application installed during
the PcVideo basic installation can also be used for this purpose.
Color adjustments for the AVI capture driver must be done via the
    AVI application vidcap.exe.

If you change boards, you need to select the proper board type. This
can be done by invoking the driver's installation applet, in the
control panel and choosing the MCI driver for SETUP. The AVI capture
driver can then be configured as explained above. In the end repeat
step 9 to configure the H/W.
