Ahhh... well.. those kind of moderators are called "echo rescuers" (???) Ask
Bobby Queen. ;) I agree with you though. I've expressed my opinion in
MODERATOR about this topic. We should carry this discussion there.

downloading that will be Y2K before the end of the year..

RW> Are you trying to say my modem can control your modem thru hardware??

In effect, yes. When both sides are talking with hardware flow control, the
downloading modem can send messages to the other side about speeding up or
slowing down during data transfer. With software flow control, on the other
hand, it takes a protocol that supports it (X-modem?), a comm program that
supports it, and the user hitting 2 Ctrl-? keys (which ones I don't
remember). I've never used it myself, since hardware flow control seems so
much easier.

I actually prefer the absentee style of moderation. If it's not neccesary, why
bother putting your hat on?

If we all just act like adults, there should be no problem.

Thats why I dont change s-ware very often..
Actually, I have only run 3 different packages over 15 years (+/-).
Colorama (on a Radio Shack CoCO), Dragon Soft (ported from an Amiga to a PC),
and now TAG for the longest period..

If you're really _THAT_ unhappy with the way that this echo is being run, why
don't you just start another one, instead of continuing to try and impose
your ideas as to how things should work on the rest of us?

Every moderator has their own style of dealing with their echos. I currently
moderate four backbone echos, and have handled others in the past.

Why don't you just give it a break...
