History of Revisions for HOUSE/2

Most recent changes are located on the bottom of this document.

All changes are to the HOUSE/2 program unless specifically noted that
changes are for the HOUS2UTL program.

10-10-97 Version 1.0: Initial Release.

10-20-97 Version 1.0a: Fixed 4 missing parenthesis.

11-30-97 Version 1.0b: Added support for COM5-COM8.

File-Save As does now retain SET filename for next File-Save.

Interface Time displayed on screen does now properly display
                            after a SET INTERFACE TIME.

First day of month was displayed as last day + 1 of previous month
in the Clock Read / Set window. This has been corrected.

AutoConnect now connects automatically as it should.

Corrected CM11A EEPROM program when only an OFF time was enabled
                            on any modules.

If module is enabled for upload but no time is enabled, module
would be uploaded with wrong pointers. A module with no time
                            enabled will now NOT upload.

Eliminated dialog if program is run with 1280x1024 resolution.
Icons on Iconbar may show smaller and module switch plates may
not be placed properly. I don't currently have a system with
this resolution to verify this, but eventually will do it.

Connect routine enhanced. When connecting now, HOUSE/2 will read the
battery status and check if more than 20%. If not, bad battery icon
is displayed. If connecting to something other than a CM11A, connect
error is displayed, but the com port remains open. Use Interface -
Disconnect or click on Connect Error icon to close com port.

12-15-97 Version 1.0c: COM5-COM8 now recognized properly when restarting HOUSE/2.

Connect routine further enhanced. Will now connect properly when
there is data pending from the interface. Proper connect test takes
                            2-3 seconds.

Data logging enable/disable reworked. When disabled, only power fail
acknowledge from interface are logged. Module switches will continue
to display live status, but events are not logged. When logging is enabled,
all events are logged to HOUSE2.LOG

2-20-98 Version 1.1: HOUS2UTL enhanced to version 1.1. Improved EEPROM image decoding when only
macros are present, macro pointers are now correctly extracted, date range
decoding fixed, plus other minor fixes. Added Utility menu to change com port
settings for HOUSE/2 and an EEPROM Usage selection to calculate bytes used.

Added support for macros, multiple timer events and multiple macro actions.

Added "Bytes used" to Upload dialog window.

Changing on/off-times on modules and on-times on macros automatically checks
the Timer ON boxes if they were previously disabled.

December 32, 1997 date read from CM11A interface?! Did anybody notice this
on January 1, 1998? The CM11A has a date bug! It always counts 366 days and
then rolls over. It is not aware of non-leap years.
This appears to be a minor problem, however, all modules stop working every
Jan 1st (except Jan 1st after a leap year). Date ranges inside the
CM11A are numericals 0-364 if programmed in a non-leap year.
With the date counter not rolling over properly in non-leap years,
it moves out of the pre-programmed range of any module and therefore not
activating them for that one day. I will further check into this and
possibly program around this bug. In the mean time: Set the CM11A
date and time _every_ January 1st as early as possible. This resets the
date and all modules operate again.

Incorrect interface date display has been fixed.

Canceling Save-As dialog does now work correctly.

Module events can now be navigated around and deleted from the
Time, Date and Special page. Next button click will now "wrap-around"
to first event if Add New Event is canceled.

Date Range and Live-In (Random) setting are now also displayed on the Time page.

                            Addition of Dawn/Dusk calculations.

Module series event calculation page added. Create dawn/dusk, dusk/dawn,
etc. events for a full year by pressing just two buttons!

Live-In (Random) check box separated for on-time and off-time. This allows
to program series events like on-time at dusk, off-time at 10:00pm Live-In
(+/-30 minutes) over a full year very easily on the same switch.
With other programs, you have to create two switches, one with the
on-times only, the other with the off-times only.

Added live module status update on screen for All Units Off, All Lights Off,
All Lights On events when connected to interface.

Added display of all macro actions in the macro edit action notebook page.

Expanded online HELP (troubleshooting section and more).

2-25-98 Version 1.11: Weekday upload settings corrected (interface uses Sa Fr Th We Tu Mo Su convention).
So if you uploaded Su Mo Tu setting, the interface would work on Sa Fr Th.

Error 41, Bad arithmetic conversion, line 5741: MCSliderValOff = ... fixed.

3-1-98 Version 1.12: Removed confirmation when adding modules or macros.

General Report printing and saving to file routine added.

Error 40, Incorrect call to routine, line 13209: DayMask = B2X(DayMask) fixed.

Weekdays now carry-over properly from previous event when new event is added.

Last used SET file is now saved and loaded automatically the next time you run HOUSE/2.

Changed macro action delay range to 0-240 minutes for first action and 1-240 min. for all
other actions. Macro actions will not work with zero delay between actions.

3-10-98 Version 1.13: Removed leading zero in day of interface time display. Addition of time
difference warning if greater than 10 minutes.

Addition of Font and Grid / No Grid selection for report printing. Printing
now works on every computer, not just the author's. Read the help on printing!

Events with equal on and off times were disabled even if only on (or only off)
timer was used. Added prompt so you can select what you want.

Addition of HELP icon to toolbar. It will bring up the HELP INDEX.

3-11-98 Version 1.2: Redesigned module face plates to add functionality and prevent video
                            artifacts on some systems.

Double-clicking on Module or Macro Status Line will now bring up edit notebook.

New notebook look for Warp 3 systems.

Proper loading and dropping of DLLs implemented. Will now not drop DLLs if used
                            by other programs.

Dawn/Dusk Offsets are now properly added to series event calculations.

Added drag and drop modules and macros to other groups.

Added drag and drop reodering of modules and macros within a group.

Context sensitive help (press F1) for all notebook pages and print window implemented.

Save and Save As prompts uniformly implemented.

Print problems clarified. See HELP File - Print.

Added /Pb and /Ps start-up options to select big/small toolbar icons.

Fixed geographical location selection, raised limit to 100 locations per
DAT file and added custom location addition.

4-27-98 Version 1.3: Added support for resolutions of 1280x1024 and 1152x864.

Added support for Two-Way modules (LM14A, AM14A and RR501 and eqv.).

Added toggle switch to each switch face plate for ON/OFF activation.

Added external module database. Must be edited from HOUS2UTL.

Expanded group and switch names from 10 to 12 characters. Must use
HOUS2UTL to convert all SET files before running HOUSE/2.

Added warning to module setup page when selected house and device code
is already in use by another module.

Repeated activation of Print, Clear EEProm and Upload opened a new
window everytime. Now program will sense when any of these windows are
open and give the appropriate window focus.

HOUS2UTL now supports decoding of extended commands as used by the Two-Way
                            dim module LM14A.

Switch plate labels now turn green if turned on.

Switch plate labels turn yellow after a status request when bulb is burnt-out.
This works for the LM14A only.

Addition of EEProm Status under TOOLS menu.

More context sensitive help. Press F1 for HELP and pertinent help section will open.

This option is only available with registered version.

HOUSE2.CFG changed to ini format (HOUSE2.INI). HOUSE2.CFG must be converted to INI
with the HOUS2UTL program. Use menu UTILITIES - Convert CFG to INI.

Log Decoder added to HOUS2UTL.EXE. Decodes HOUSE2.LOG to readable format.

HOUSE2.LOG size option added. Log is now kept at a certain size and archived
to HOUSE2.000 if size is exceeded.

Start Delay in macro edit window can now be edited properly with the keyboard.

Valid date range check implemented for module setups. Date range must have
"From Date" set earlier than "To Date".

Fixed Delete module routine. Modules and macros can also be deleted
using drag and drop to trash can.

Date format in HOUSE2.LOG changed to MM/DD/YYYY (four digit year).

Slash screen added to show progress at initial load. HOUSE2.EXE starts up
                            H2MAIN.EXE.

Registration keys implemented. Registration is entered in HOUS2UTL.EXE from
HELP - Register menu. If you are a registered user, you have received a
registration key. Any new versions can then be downloaded from my website,
BMT Micro or Hobbes. No need to access special download area.

Corrected problems with drag-and-drop move and delete.

                            All Year 2000 issues solved.

Added a message when year changes and the daylight saving dates need adjustment.
DST change dates are adjusted automatically, but module series events may need
                            to be recreated manually.

1-21-99 HOUS2UTL.EXE version 1.7a - cleaned up conversion routines when no HOUSE2.CFG
                            is present.

Fixed problem with saving EEProm bytes and date last programmed.

Added easier way to access any event. Using the keyboard, simply enter
the event number you like to display and press NEXT.

Fixed problem with upload when first event of several was disabled.

Fixed problem with detection of duplicate module addresses.

Added CM11A firmware revision display to Clock Set window.
