DIRECTIONS FOR OBTAINING THE LATEST LANSTREAMER DEVICE DRIVERS
--------------------------------------------------------------

TR_DIAGG.DSK, the LANStreamer device driver image, is available
from three places:

   -   OS/2 Bulletin Board System
   -   IBM PC Company Bulletin Board System
   -   LANPROD tools disk on VM (IBM internal)

(The bulletin board services require appropriate communications
software, a modem, and an analog line.)

A.  To obtain the device driver from the OS/2 Bulletin Board
    System:

        -   Call 1-800/547-1283 to register and to get the
            local number for accessing the OS/2 BBS.  (There
            is a fee for this bulletin board service, but there
            is no long distance charge.)

    1.  Dial the local number to the OS/2 BBS given to you
        at registration time.

    2.  Access the OS/2 Software Library, OS/2 Selective Fixes.

    3.  Download the following files in binary.  There are two
        versions of the LANStreamer Diags and Drivers.  Select a
        package and follow the prompts to download the files:

            LANSTR32
                LANStreamer 32 Adapter Diags and Driver 1.1 1-19-94
            LANSTR16
                LANStreamer 16 Adapter Diags and Driver 1.1 1-19-94

     4.  Execute LOADDSKF.EXE to build the adapter diskette.

             Example:  LOADDSKF  
pathUTR_DIAGG.DSK  A:

     The diskette will contain the newest device driver for
     LANStreamer.

 B.  To obtain the diskette from the IBM PC Company Bulletin
     Board system:

     1.  Call the bulletin board system.
         - the number is (919)-517-0001
         - parameters are 1200-14400bps, 8-N-1

     2.  Follow the instructions to register on the bulletin
         board system.

     3.  From the BBS main menu, download the diskette image
         ( TR_DIAGG.DSK ):
         -  Type, D <enter>  (to perform download operation).
         -  Type, TR_DIAGG.DSK <enter> (for the filename to
            download).
         -  Select the protocol for performing the file transfer
            between the BBS and the communications software.
            This must be selected on both the BBS and the local
            communication software.
            -  Download the diskette image.

     4.  From the BBS main menu, download the diskette formatter
         program ( LDF.COM ).
         -   Type, D <enter>  (to perform download operation)
         -   Type, LDF.COM <enter> (for the filename to download)
         -   Select the protocol for performing the file transfer
             between the BBS and the communications software.
             This must be selected on both the BBS and the local
             communications software.
         -   Download the diskette image.

     5.  Insert a blank diskette in the A: drive.

     6.  Execute LDF.COM from a DOS or OS/2 2.x command prompt.

     7.  Execute LOADDSKF.EXE from the same command prompt using the
         following command:

             LOADDSKF

 C.  To obtain the diskette from VM

     The device driver diskette image can be obtained from the
     LANPROD tools disk on VM.  The package is called LANSTR32.

     1.  From the VM prompt type

            TOOLCAT LANPROD

     2.  Do a GET on the LANSTR32 package.

     3.  Download the file, TR_DIAGG.DSK as a binary file.

     4.  Execute LOADDSKF.EXE
