                                 File Converter

This program helps you with converting files. The conversion is done using
translation tables which have the same structure as the *.SET files of
The Norton Commander 4.0 and above: the file should contain exactly 255 bytes,
to which the characters Chr(1) through Chr(255) in the original data file
should be converted, respectively.

You don't have to put the translation files into the current directory
before the conversion. If the translation file specified on the command line
does not exist in the current directory, it will also be searched for in the
directory from which the program was started.

There are three sample translation files included: two for converting
between ANSI and ASCII, code page 437 (taken from The Norton Commander 4.0
distribution package) and a template file (which does no conversion at all but
helps you with setting up your own translation files).

The source of this program is public domain and provided here "as is" - I
don't feel like commenting it but if you have problems then feel free to ask
me. If you derive your own program from the source or put a part of the source
into your own program, please, give me a credit and send a copy to me.
